Information Architect

TMA Resources is an innovative software company that offers CRM solutions to the non-profit and association marketplace.

We currently seek a senior-level information architect to play a critical role in our clients’ Web site redesign projects.  This individual will work closely with Web strategists and graphic designers to analyze clients’ existing structures and provide alternative solutions for improvements.  The ideal candidate will have extensive experience creating intuitive, navigable information architecture structures at various depths.

Job Responsibilities

  • Translate client goals and objectives into strategic content plans
  • Conduct detailed content audits
  • Prepare and conduct card sort exercises with client staff and constituent end users
  • Create detailed information architecture structures for content-rich sites
  • Create client-ready sitemaps and wireframes to demonstrate strategic plan
  • Guide clients through the process of defining/refining taxonomy and folksonomy structures
  • Convey content strategy to developers to ensure complete understanding

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Minimum of three years of experience acting as the lead information architect on mid- to large-sized Web site assignments
  • Minimum of two years of experience conducting usability studies on proposed navigational structures
  • Ability to produce clean, clear deliverables including documentation for personas, sitemaps, user flows, navigation schemes, content types, wireframes, etc.
  • Thorough understanding of best practices in content design, structure, hierarchy and presentation for the Web
  • Thorough understanding of best practices in writing for the Web
  • Meticulous, detail oriented
  • Self-starter; ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Excellent presentation and client-relations skills
  • Experience with associations or other member-based organizations a plus
  • Knowledge of various content management systems (SharePoint, Ektron, Sitecore) a plus

Education/Certifications

Bachelor’s Degree required (Information Architecture, Human-Computer Interaction or Interaction Design preferred)
